NORTH TEXAS FILM CO.
STORIES HAVE
ALWAYS MATTERED
TO ME.
I'm Kostas Lazanas, the filmmaker behind North Texas Film Co. I create cinematic films for businesses, brands, organizations, and people who have something worth saying.
WHY I MAKE FILMS
THE STORY COMES FIRST.
I’ve always believed the best films aren’t really about cameras, lighting, or production value. They’re about people.
The moments that stay with us are usually the real ones — a business owner explaining why they started, a family celebrating something they’ll never experience the same way again, or someone simply sharing a story that deserves to be remembered.
That’s what I look for when I pick up a camera.
My job isn’t just to make something look cinematic. It’s to understand what matters, find the moments that make it human, and turn them into a film people actually feel.
Good images get attention. Great stories stay with you.
HOW IT STARTED
I STARTED WITH MY
OWN STORY.
I picked up a camera in 2017 for a simple reason: I wanted to grow my restaurant, Opa Greek Taverna in Rowlett, Texas.
What started as creating videos for my own business quickly became something more. I discovered that I had a real passion for filmmaking especially the process of taking raw footage and shaping it into something people could feel.
Soon I was filming businesses that collaborated with my restaurant, shadowing other videographers, learning everything I could, and eventually taking on projects of my own.
WEDDINGS
THE MOMENTS THAT MATTER
Some stories only happen once. I love capturing the people, emotion, and moments couples will want to experience again.
COMMUNITY
DOCUMENTING HISTORY
From local businesses to community leaders and milestone moments, I've had the privilege of documenting stories happening right here in North Texas.
DOCUMENTARY
REAL PEOPLE. REAL STORIES.
Some of my most meaningful work has come from sitting down with real people, listening to their experiences, and giving their stories a voice.
NARRATIVE FILM
BECOMING A FILMMAKER
Producing my own short films and working with actors pushed me beyond simply making videos. It taught me how to build a story from the ground up.
“YEAH, I MADE THAT.
AND NOW IT'S THERE FOREVER.”

MY APPROACH
BIG PRODUCTION VALUE.
PERSONAL ATTENTION.
I approach every project with the same goal: make it look exceptional without losing what makes it real.
Whether I’m filming a wedding, building a commercial for a brand, sitting down for a documentary interview, or capturing a live event, I want the people in front of my camera to feel comfortable and the finished film to feel intentional.
I care about the details. The lighting. The sound. The composition. The edit. But none of those things matter if we lose the story along the way.
That’s why I stay hands-on from the first conversation through the final cut.
THE GEAR MAKES THE IMAGE.
THE STORY MAKES THE FILM.
BEYOND THE CAMERA
THERE’S MORE TO MY STORY THAN FILM.
When I’m not behind a camera, I’m usually somewhere in the middle of another adventure.
I’m a husband, a dad to five girls, a small-business owner, a sailor, a cyclist, and someone who has never been particularly good at sitting still.
Owning restaurants taught me how much a business can mean to the people behind it. Weddings remind me how quickly life moves. Documentaries have introduced me to people and stories I never would have encountered otherwise.
Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to filmmaking.
I like people. I like experiences. I like going places, trying things, building things, and hearing how someone got where they are.
And whenever something meaningful is happening, I still have the same instinct:
I WANT TO CAPTURE IT.
Same stories. Different places. Always something worth remembering.
